Kalley Nelson

Kalley Nelson is an Illustrator and fiction writer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her work primarily focuses on the fantastical and surreal.

She has her Bachelor in fine arts from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a focus on illustration and creative writing.

Kalley is a multidisciplinary artist who works in mediums such as digital and traditional illustration, clay, glass, and metal sculpture as well as photography.

In 2023, she studied glasswork, painting, and sculpture at Osaka University of the Arts in Japan.

Kalley’s work has been exhibited in shows on campus both at MCAD and at Osaka University of the Arts as well as the Family Tree clinic in Minneapolis.

In her writing practice she is currently working on a magical realism novel that deep dives into the understanding of human emotion as well as magical realism based short stories that touch on the human experience.
